The Landscape of Industrial Property Rights in the Polish Space Sector

SUMMARY

Polish space sector entities filed a total of 657 applications, of which approximately 75% were successful. The largest number of applications submitted by space sector entities – 489 – concerned inventions. The collected data leads to the following conclusions:

  • The Polish space sector focuses primarily on developing new technologies.
  • Polish space sector entities are increasingly willing to take advantage of the opportunities for protecting industrial property offered by the Polish Patent Office.
  • The space industry is developing dynamically, meaning that protection for half of technical solutions protected by patents lasts approximately three years less than half of all inventions filed with the European Patent Office.
  • It appears that awareness of industrial property rights among Polish space sector entities remains low.

Precision agriculture in Poland

SUMMARY

Based on the study, it can be concluded that farmers running small (up to 2 ha) and medium-sized (up to 20 ha) farms lack sufficient knowledge about precision farming. A high, but still unsatisfactory, level of knowledge about precision farming is found among farmers running large farms (over 20 ha). A positive, however, is the fact that a very large percentage of farmers are interested in precision farming and willing to learn about it.

Similar results can be observed in terms of the use of precision farming. Large farms use precision farming significantly more often than small and medium-sized farms.

The value of providing farmers with knowledge about precision farming is demonstrated by the satisfaction scores of farmers using precision farming. As many as 90% of those using these methods believe it is profitable.
